PPP announcement on formation of government

January 2, 2008

Samak Sundaravej the leader of the PPP announced yesterday that they will be forming a coalition government together with three smaller parties with a total of 254 parliamentary seats.

The coalition government will include three other parties – the Ruamjai Thai Chart Pattana, the Matchima Thipataya and the Pracharaj parties.  Between them the four parties will have between 251 and 254 seats in the 480 seat parliament dependent upon the outcome of the investigations by the Election Commission into electoral fraud.

Later on today we are off to Thailand so I expect this blog will be an intermittent photo blog for the next three weeks or so.
