Retraction

Now let me say before I begin that I have already declared that I am voting for Nick Clegg.  Having seen all the fuss via Lib Dem Blogs I watched the clip from the Politics Show myself and was fairly gob smacked.

My views can probably be best summed up by Chris and Glynis AbbottNich Starling and Jeremy Hargreaves.

Of course the story does not really end there either.  The Chris Huhne website carries an apology but the apology itself then goes on to say that they are “seeking permission from the returning officer to put the document in the public domain under the amended title “Nick Clegg in the media on public services reform and proportional representation.” Underneath that there is a link to click on to download the document although this takes you to a password protected area of the site the implication is maybe that some people can download the document even though (presumably) the returning officer has yet to grant permission.  Interestingly the front page does not carry this as its lead story.

Last time around I had Huhne down as my second preference and this time around I had earlier stated that whilst I was backing Nick Clegg I would I would not have a problem if Chris was elected. I retract that last statement following yesterdays performance.

As an interesting postscript to this story I saw this post on the subject of Cleggheads and Huhnistas The conclusion?  Cleggheads are People People and Huhnistas are Systems People.  Even (or especially) my closest friends would not describe me as a people person.  Ho Hum!

  1. The “apology” and explanation on Huhne’s website raises more questions than it answers. Here are a couple of them:
